Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Programmed are currently looking for experienced heavy vehicle mechanics who have a strong safety focus and are interested in applying their knowledge and skills to a unique type of vehicle.

In this role, you will be working with fire trucks, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standard. This position is on day shift however may require overtime or emergency repairs at other times so flexibility is appreciated.

About the Role:

• Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance for fire related systems and fleet vehicles in line with regulations
• Responsible for general cab chassis maintenance
• Small engine maintenance
• Assist with maintaining generators and pumps
• Fault finding, diagnostics and testing
• Computer use for inventory control and maintenance scheduling/ reporting
• Estimated 3 months with possible extension

About You:

• Recent heavy vehicle mechanical maintenance experience
• Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification preferred (light vehicle mechanics with heavy vehicle experience will be considered)
• Pump, hydraulic and pneumatics experience an advantage
• MR Licence desirable
• Basic computer skills
• Available for emergency maintenance call outs
